Chicago Mayfest is the Official Start of the Summer Festival Season in Chicago. Entering our 17th year, Mayfest sets the ‘bar’ for an incredible summer of can’t miss Chicago events and a great beginning for the Mayor’s Office of Special Events season of community festivals.
Mayfest brings all of the top Chicago party bands together for a weekend to remember. Featuring 16 Candles, Too White Crew, Hairbangers Ball, Mike and Joe, Maggie Speaks and many more. The Lakeview neighborhood comes to life for three days of festival fun.
Our giant Big-Top tent is the center piece of the festival and houses our huge music stage, plenty of ice cold beer, and your favorite summer-time food. Local artisans offer some incredible wares and our preferred merchants showcase an eclectic mix of merchandise that fill the Mayfest courtyard.
On Saturday, we temporarily transform the festival grounds into a huge playground for our ‘Kids Day America‘. This event is our Hometown Heroes celebration that provides a wide array of fun activities for the younger generation and their families. Kids Day will have many exciting activities to enjoy and select entertainment on the big stage. Kids Day America starts at 10 am and goes until 2 pm.
On Sunday, pet lovers unite to enjoy our world-famous Mayfest Pet Parade - Sponsored by Higgins Animal Clinic. Here is your chance to showcase the talents of your furry friends and take the stage for our unique per-friendly party. Awards are presented for the ‘Best Looking’, ‘Largest’, and ‘Owner Look-A-Like’ and others. If your pet can do an incredible trick, make sure to sign up for our ‘Pet Trick’ Portion of the show. Registration begins at 11:00 am on Sunday with the show at Noon.
