You may know StarEvents because of our fundraising festivals, which have raised over $20,000,000 for local non-profit organizations around Chicagoland since 1996.
But did you know that StarEvents built a park? In 2009, we produced a festival to raise the funds to create what is now Klein Park. This beautiful, newly renovated park is located in the amazing Lakeview area, and rests on .39 acres with a playground and an extended green space. StarEvents raised the money for brand new turf and playground equipment. We even had a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony, where the park was given to the Lakeview community and dedicated to Lois Klein.
The park is named after Lois Klein, a neighborhood activist who inspired members of the Lakeview community in the 1980’s and 90’s. This park is the perfect addition to Lakeview, making it a fun and safe area for children and families to spend their time.
Klein Park contributes more than just a space to relax. Many areas surrounding Klein Park offer a variety of structured programs for youths of all ages. These play structures and programs have helped Lakeview become the safe and lively area that it is today. Check it out- you’ll even see our name on the dedication plaque.
Within a bustling city, it is crucial for kids to have the ability to go outside and play. We couldn’t have done it without the help of the Chicago community!
