As a festival expert with over twenty years experience, he knows how to maximize revenue opportunities and consistently achieve his clients’ objectives.

Q&A WITH JOHN

How long have you worked for StarEvents?

I dreamed up StarEvents in the fall of 1996… and have been creating, producing, and managing festivals ever since. Almost a quarter of a century later… and I’m still lovin’ this career choice!

What’s your passion outside of the workplace?

I love to entertain… and drumming is one of my lifelong passions. It is actually the reason StarEvents and Chicago Entertainment Agency were both developed.

What’s your favorite event outside of Chicago?

Anything with my kids. I have two amazing children and truly enjoy seeing them pursue their passions. My daughter is an amazing dancer and my son is a world-class percussionist. I love watching them create, perform, and develop their passions.

What is your favorite restaurant in Chicago?

My favorite Chicago restaurant would have to be Portillo’s. I know it’s not fancy… but, I come from a blue-collar world and love hot dogs, burgers, cheese fries… and especially their chocolate cake!

WHERE’s the coolest place a project has taken you?

I was sent over to Abu Dhabi a few years back to help them develop a festival. It was an incredible experience and really cool to see their culture first hand.

What’s the best part about working at StarEvents?

My favorite thing about StarEvents is creating neighborhood celebrations that give people a reason to unite, celebrate, and experience all of the diverse communities throughout Chicago.
