EVENT accounting INTERN

StarEvents is seeking an Accounting Intern that will play a vital role in the development of our event timelines, vendor relations, and financial accounting and reporting. This intern will work with the events team under direct supervision from the Event Manager learning the ins and outs of the finances of event planning. Interns will aid in developing and maintaining event budgets, reconciling payments, and creating financial reports, learning the ins and outs of office management.
OFFICE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with planning onsite logistics for events
- Help to manage logistical invoices and budgets
- Help to maintain office servers and accounting binders to ensure all proper paperwork is filed
- Assist with finalizing event specifications with the direction of the client and Event Manager
- Help to manage staffing for events, including stage managers, gate staff and beer booth staff
- Create and maintain databases and documents
- Work to process event applications
- Create sponsorship contracts and invoices
- Create financial reports and analytics for each event to present to the client
- Check final event documents and maps to ensure logistics and equipment is correct
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

- How to create an event overview and financial plan
- How to track event success through budgeting
- How to manage a system of registrations and applications
- How to troubleshoot and problem solve
- How to manage multiple accounts and process payments
- How to generate invoices
EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in on-site event execution, including set up and break-down
- Ensure all materials are placed correctly and returned to correct location during break-down
- Help to lead provider and vendor placement
- Execute and ensure event quality
- Resolve any logistics conflicts on site
- Work to properly place all vendors and build relationships while on-site
- Serve as on-site event support for all vendors and sponsors
- Ensure all vendors/sponsors receive ordered materials
- Help manage staffing, check-in, and payment onsite
ELIGIBILITY
- This is a full time position from 9am-5pm Tuesday through Friday

- Candidates should be enthusiastic about event planning
- Must have moderate to advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel, Office and Google Drive
- Able to stand for extended periods and tolerate inclement weather
- Fluency in Spanish preferred (not required)
