Our Safety and Sanitation Promise

Star Events is optimistic about Chicago’s 2024 music festival season!  We are also committed to keeping all attendees, and staff members as safe as possible. Therefore, we are going the extra mile to put your mind at ease so you can continue to feel comfortable, enjoy some live music, and have a cold beer. Star Events has trained through several COVID Certifications and Courses through John Hopkins, Cornerstone, and more! We have put together a code of conduct to keep all of our attendees, vendors, and staff safe. So, relax, and have fun.  We’ve got your safety covered.

 Events are powerful. They bring people together and create a sense of community that is needed in Chicago more than ever. More so, our events create an economic impact of over $1 million dollars for the local communities we serve, and local businesses need our help more than ever.

We love putting on events, but we love keeping our community safe even more. We have done extensive research and certifications to make sure we are the experts on COVID-19 and keeping you safe.

Depending on the current recommendations from officials our entrance policy may change. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing similar symptoms, we ask that you sit this one out and join us again when you are recovered.

COVID-19 has helped push all our events into the future. Payment at the gates and in beer booths will have contactless options, using credit cards, Venmo, and Apple Pay. Vendor booths will also have the option to go cashless from here on out. Vendors will also be asked to sanitize all surfaces every hour.

The streets will still be lined with your favorite artists, merchants, and food vendors, but it will look a little different from here on out. Vendor booths will have extra space when possible between each booth to ensure the ability to social distance.

Whenever possible stay 5-7ft away from your people to avoid the “splash zone”.  We will have clear markings on the ground to help you out in this area.  We will also space out the vendors accordingly, to make sure there is plenty of space for everyone.

They work.  We will strongly every attendee, and staff member to wear a mask if they are within 6 feet of others.  FYI- A bandanna works, but is the least effective.  A cloth, or surgical mask is next, the N95 mask provides extra protection.  Add a face shield over your mask of choice for the ultimate protection.

 We will have ample sanitizer and hand washing stations all across the venue when recommended by local and state officials. We will have extra sanitizer stations at the entrances, food booths, and bathrooms in recommended areas. Also, no more handshakes.  Handshakes are a thing of the past. Bumping elbows is cool now. 

Our Cleaning plan 

At every StarEvents festival, we have a cleaning team sanitizing, cleaning, and doing event maintenance from open until close. We like to keep our events clean and tidy- always. Moving forward, we take this mission even more seriously. Our professional cleaning team are experienced and trained in the latest COVID safety and sanitation techniques and measures. As always, our teams are professionals that you can trust to keep the events clean, sanitary, and safe.

Our cleaning team’s product suite features Purbloc, a water-based, non-toxic and food safe (NSF-51 approved) compound created by fusing an EPA-registered germicide agent with the science of Nano Formulation Technology, to deliver the ultimate surface protectant.

Please note, the following answers are based on most situations. There may be some exceptions at specific events.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What preventative measures are being taken by StarEvents?

StarEvents is closely following the guidelines set forth by local and federalgovernment. While abiding by those guidelines, we also have a Code of Conduct Requirements document for all those participating in the event, including but not limited to attendees, vendors, sponsors, employees, volunteers, service providers, clients, and more. Will I be required to be vaccinated?

No, we will not require proof of vaccination. Those who have already been vaccinated are still expected to follow all safety and preventative measures, including wearing a mask and social distancing.

Do I have to show proof of a negative COVID test?

No, we will not require proof of a negative COVID test before entering the event. Upon entry where recommended by officals, you will be required to get your temperature taken upon entrance. If your temperature is over 100.4 degrees, you can wait 10 minutes to be retested. If your temperature is still high, you will not be permitted to enter the event. If you have received a positive COVID-19 test, or if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home.

What rules am I expected to follow?

As per our Code of Conduct Requirements at StarEvents Festivals During COVID-19 document, all participants including but not limited to attendees, vendors, sponsors, employees, volunteers, service providers, clients, and more are expected to abide by the following rules:
i. Treat others with respect and consideration.
ii. If you have received a positive test for COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19, do not attend or participate at the event.
iii. Agree to have your temperature taken before entering the event.
iv. Wear your mask at all times when within 6 feet of others, except when actively eating or drinking.
v. Do not remove your mask for any reason within six feet of others indoors.
vi. Stay at least six feet away from other attendees and participants whenever possible.
vii. Regularly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
viii. Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
ix. Monitor yourself for common COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, loss of smell and taste, cough, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, fatigue, and
muscle aches.
x. Adhere to all national and local regulations regarding social distancing, mask wearing, and more.
xi. Adhere to government issued travel restrictions and guidance issued by the region the event is in and the region you are traveling from.
xii. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of participating at a StarEvents event, notify StarEvents staff at info@StarEvents.com or 773-665-4682 to advise them.

What if I see someone not wearing a mask/not following the rules?

If you ever feel uncomfortable or see someone not following the expected rules as stated in the StarEvents Code of Conduct, please tell a StarEvents staff member. Staff members are wearing clearly marked StarEvents t-shirts or sweatshirts. You can also email info@StarEvents.com.

What if someone gets sick after attending the festival?

If a participant tests positive for COVID-19 after attending an event, StarEvents will notify local health officials, who will then notify close contacts. If you receive a positive COVID test after attending an event, please contact StarEvents at info@StarEvents.com or 773-665-4682.

How can I set up my booth space in a way that is COVID-friendly?

The less that people can touch, and the further the distance between you and others, the better. Set up your booth space with a barrier between your staff and attendees, such as a table or plexiglass. If possible, do not let attendees touch products that they are not buying. If they touch your products, table, plexiglass, or anything else in or on your booth space, sanitize immediately before the next person comes to your booth.

What information can I share with my staff about COVID-19?

The Center for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) has great information about how an employer can keep their staff protected while at work. Click here to read the CDC’s guidelines about how to keep your workplace safe.

Do I have to get my temperature checked before entering the festival?

Yes, when required based on CDC and local recommendations. Signage at the gate will let you know if temperature checks are required at that particular event. To enter the event, your temperature must be under 100.4 degrees. If your temperature is 100.4 degrees or higher, you may wait 10 minutes to be retested. If it is still high, you will not be permitted to enter the event.

Will you be accepting credit cards, Apple Pay, or non-cash payment options?

The gates and beer booths run by StarEvents will be accepting credit card payments as well as cash. Credit card machines will be sanitized in between uses. The vendors and sponsors selling food and goods will be encouraged to offer credit card, Apple Pay, and other non-cash payments; however we cannot guarantee that all booths will accept these payments.

Can I take my mask off to eat or drink?

Yes, you may take your mask off only while actively eating or drinking.
