A non-profit business is an incorporated business from which its shareholders do not benefit financially. Any money earned must be retained by the organization, and used for its own expenses, operations, and programs. But why are nonprofits important? Nonprofit organizations play an important role in building healthy communities by providing services that contribute to economic stability. Every non-profit has different goals and objectives, but most have a mission to strengthen communities in one way or another. Whether that be providing a small business loan, creating local events, establishments, etc. A strong non-profit is key to a thriving community!
Star Events Festivals fundraise for nonprofits
Yes! If you have ever been to one of our Chicago street festivals, you know that they are free to the public. Attendees have the chance to enter at no cost to our Chicago street festivals, but are encouraged to donate to the receiving non-profit at the gate. Within the event, attendees can purchase from our small business vendors who sell a range of options from food, products, and services. Buying from these vendors helps stimulate the economy and helps small businesses of all types.
Our donations go directly to help
When you donate at a StarEvents festival, your donation benefits many non-profits right within the Chicago community. Nonprofits such as Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, West Loop Community Organization, and Roscoe Village Neighbors are a few of our notable donation areas! Over the past 25 years, StarEvents festivals have raised over $20,000,000 for charities and nonprofit organizations all around Chicagoland. Nonprofits are more common and beneficial than we think, If you have been to a public school, park, church, community center, or even a hospital, then you have been affected by a nonprofit!
So remember next time you are at the gate, the money you donate does not line any companies pockets- it does directly to help the community you are enjoying!
