It is with a heavy heart that we relay the 2021 Taste of Randolph Street (June 19-21) has been postponed for another year.
Below you will find the press release that was published by the West Loop Community Organization:
CHICAGO — “As a 501(c)(3) community organization and delegate agency for the City of Chicago, the West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) carries a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of our neighborhood and City which is part of the reason we decided earlier on to postpone Taste of Randolph for one more year. WLCO will be planning a variety of street activations throughout the west loop in efforts to raise funds and spotlight our tenacious and talented businesses within our commercial corridors.
We have all been through so much over the last 15+ months, and it has been with patience, perseverance, and the collective and responsible public efforts demonstrated, that we are able to come together once again. Remember that as we reunite and celebrate this summer, please continue to follow all of the CDC guidelines and public safety measurements that are appropriate.
See you on Randolph in 2022, in the meantime #shoplocal!”
While this is certainly not the news we and many other Chicagoans were looking to hear there is still a lot you can do in the Chicagoland area this summer. For example, Long Play Summerfest is happening at Rivets Stadium in Rockford, IL over the 4th of July weekend. There will be a variety of live music, great food, fireworks, and an amazing carnival. With Cheap Trick, Jeff Tweedy, and Gin Blossoms headlining, Long Play Music Fest is sure to be a hit for the whole family. Get your tickets here to make this July 4th a weekend to remember. Also, be sure to check out our website for information on an array of other festivals!
