Held at Ashland and 18th Street in Chicago’s historic Pilsen neighborhood, the 14th annual Mole de Mayo festival featured a delicious mole competition, pitting local chefs and restaurants against one another to find out whose version of the Mexican staple is best! In addition, the outdoor festival also featured a number of the city’s finest food vendors, an open-air Mercado/Market filled to the brim with local Pilsen businesses and crafters.
The event featured 2 stages of great live entertainment, including music, djs, and dance. Our lucha libre wrestling ring was a huge smash hit, located in the heart of the festival.
The festival was organized by and benefited the Eighteenth Street Development Corporation, a non-profit organization that has been serving the Pilsen neighborhood for more than three decades.
