Being held at Ashland and 18th Street in Chicago’s historic Pilsen neighborhood, the 13th annual Mole de Mayo festival will feature mole, pitting local chefs and restaurants against one another to find out whose version of the Mexican staple is best. In addition, the outdoor festival will also feature a number of the city’s finest food vendors, an open-air Mercado/Market that will be filled to the brim with local Pilsen businesses and crafters.

The event features 2 stages of great live entertainment, including music, dj, and dance. Our lucha libre wrestling ring is also a huge attraction that is located in the heart of the festival. Don’t miss this ‘professional’ wresling exhibition with some high-flying antics from our wrestlers.

The festival is being organized and will benefit the Eighteenth Street Development Corporation, a non-profit organization that has been serving the Pilsen neighborhood for more than three decades.

“If you live in Chicago right about now you’re itching for our unique neighborhood festivals to start up. This was one of the first of 2017. The weather was great. you can smell the food from blocks away. Laughter and entertainment fill the atmosphere.”

“A very fun multi day street festival that has a variety of delicious Mexican food and other vendors. They have live music and a full event schedule. We went on a Saturday and it was very packed here. There was a $10 entrance fee. This was a fun way to spend some time on Memorial Day weekend.”

GETTING TO ASHLAND AVE. & W. 18TH STREET

FROM CTA TRAINS

Mole de Mayo is located on 18th street in-between Ashland and Loomis. If you plan on taking the train, the festival is walking distance from the 18th St. Pink Line stop.

FROM CTA BUSES

CTA Bus #’s 9. 18, and x9 conveniently drop you off at the event destination, bus stop Ashland/18th.
